- How long have you been in business?
We have been operational as a management company since July 2002.
- Who makes up the management company?
Our management company is made up of surgeons, MBAs, RNs, Certified Administrators, and business managers who have a wealth of experience and an expertise understanding of the ASC industry.
- Why do I need a management company?
An experienced management company offers ownership to the surgeons without having to deal with the day-to-day conflicts of running the center.
- How many surgeons are needed to start an Ambulatory Surgical Center(ASC)?
The number of surgeons needed to start depends on the type of ASC.
- What are the licenses required in the State of Texas for an ASC?
Mandatory licenses are required in both a state and federal level. Once the licenses are obtained, the management company will assure compliance with the appropriate licensing body and would be in charge of the renewals.
- Why can't I do this on my own?
You can, but surgeons frequently enjoy the freedom and financial benefits of owning their own ASC, but not dealing with the day-to-day management challenges.
- What is the timeline to start a facility?
From the original discussions to the first case is approximately 9-12 months.
- Are some locations more suitable than others?
Certain laws apply to where an ASC can be developed. First Surgical Partners ensures that every location they build meets all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Do I have to build a new facility or can I convert an existing structure?
Existing structures have the potential to be transformed into an ASC. First Surgical Partner's experience and expertise can determine whether an existing structure is suitable.
- Who pays for the facility and how is it paid for?
First Surgical Partners can arrange financing for an ASC if requested.
